The Community Wing smelled divine last night as the Youth's Cooking Class created mouth water pizza and potato wedges from scratch! Emma the tutor from West Lothian Health Improvement Team* helped the children make Pizza dough from scratch and encouraged them to add a healthy variety of vegetables to their pizza toppings. The young people learnt how to make:-
* Pizza Dough *Marinara Sauce
*Sweet Potato Spicy Wedges
*Herby Potato Wedges
The class is supported by Lindsay a volunteer with the Boghall Drop in Centre and a Director from the Boghall Drop in Centre's Board of Directors. Encouraging young people to take an active role in cooking equips them with the knowledge to make healthier food choices. If you are interested in any of the recipes mentioned above please let us know and we will send them to you. The Drop in Centre would love to provide a parent and child cooking session in the future where parents can learn how to include their children in the cooking processes at home. This is a good opportunity for children to learn how to cook and spend that special time with their parent. If you are interested in attending any cooking classes. Adult, child or the proposed parent and child sessions please email us using boghalldropin@gmail.com or contact us through our Facebook or Twitter. You can also use the Contact Us page on the website. *West Lothian Council's Health Improvement Team provide cooking classes across West Lothian in addition to many other services.
